About us

A school built on structure, care and high expectations

East African Pre & Primary School's is a pre-primary and primary school in Arusha, Tanzania, serving families along the Moshi–Arusha Road and the surrounding communities.

About the school

Who we are

Our school brings together pre-primary and primary education on one site, so that children can move from their earliest school years through to the end of primary school within a familiar, well-ordered community.

Teaching is organised around clear schemes of work, regular written practice and prompt feedback. Class sizes are managed so that teachers know each child's strengths and the areas where they need help.

Beyond academic work, we place real weight on conduct: punctuality, tidiness, courtesy and honesty. Parents are treated as partners, and the administration is available to discuss any matter concerning a child's progress or welfare.

Our Vision

To be a school where every child receives an education that liberates the mind, forms strong character and opens the way to a confident future.

Our Mission

To provide well-structured pre-primary and primary education in a safe and disciplined environment, guided by committed teachers and supported by close partnership with parents.

Our philosophy

How we believe children learn best

Children learn best when expectations are clear, routines are predictable and effort is recognised. We therefore build every school day around order and practice rather than novelty.

Understanding is developed step by step: a concept is introduced, practised in writing, checked by the teacher, then revisited until it is secure. Pupils who need more time receive remedial attention; those who move faster are given extension work.

Our motto, Education for Liberation, sets the purpose of all this work: education that frees a child to think independently and to serve their family and community with integrity.

Our values

The standards we hold

Excellence
Doing careful, complete work and taking pride in steady improvement.
Integrity
Honesty in the classroom, on the field and in every conversation.
Discipline
Punctuality, order and respect for the routines that make learning possible.
Respect
Courtesy towards teachers, classmates, parents and the wider community.
Responsibility
Caring for one's work, belongings, environment and fellow pupils.
Creativity
Curiosity, questioning and the confidence to try, adjust and try again.

Leadership

The school is led by a head of school working with an administrative team responsible for academics, discipline and parent communication. Profiles of the leadership team will be published here once the school provides them.

Our Teachers

Lessons are delivered by qualified class and subject teachers who prepare schemes of work, mark pupils' books regularly and meet parents to discuss progress. Staff profiles and photographs are managed by the school administration.

Our Learning Environment

Classrooms are arranged for teaching and written work, with supervised outdoor space for physical activity. Arrival and departure are controlled, and pupils remain under staff supervision throughout the school day.
